The Vango Rome Air Tent has always been one of our favourite tents and for the new season it has been upgraded to take the tent to a whole new level. A recycled Fabric has been used to make the tent more sustainable. Combined with Vango’s S.I Pro inflation technology the tent suddenly has more premium features. It still comes in two sizes (550XL & 650XL), so you can easily choose how many you need to accommodate. The side storage area allows you to make the most of your living and awning area without tripping over suitcases and clutter, or why not use it as a toilet area so you haven’t got to walk miles in the middle of the night.

The Rome sits in Vango’s new Eco Dura Collection which has been designed to be environmentally friendly and durable. The entire range is made from single use plastics and every tent has an equivalent plastic bottle total to help show what Vango can create from just a small amount of waste. Vango has combined this concept with their Dura method of weaving the fabric to increase the strength of the material without having to increase the thickness of the thread. The Eco fabric has a waterproof rating of 4,000mm HH and UV protection factor of UPF30+; if this wasn’t enough the fabric also has ColourLok which aids colour retention from UV light.

The sheer amount of internal space is thanks to Vango’s Villa Construction which means the walls are more vertical giving you not only better interior height but also allowing you to utilize every inch of the tent by putting furniture closer to the sides. A multifunctional front door gives you the flexibility to have it positioned open, shut or halfway meaning whatever the weather is doing you can make the most of your holiday. Why not buy some additional King Poles and turn that front door into a canopy for those drizzly days?

Due to the lightweight Eco Dura Fabric, it means that the weight of the tent is only just over 31kg which is impressive when you think how big it is. The Rome Eco couldn’t be easier to pitch thanks to Vango’s S.I Pro (Single Point Inflation); simply peg out the base of the tent, pump it up from one point (or let an electric pump do it for you) and guy the tent out. This whole process has been demonstrated by Mike in our own YouTube videos (as seen in the link below). Even though the tent can be pumped up from one point it has multiple deflation points to make packing away the tent a doddle; this is also helped by the Smart Pack Bag which gives you the option of compressing the tent before zipping it into the bag.
